In addition to our standard curriculum, we offer weekly forest school sessions located at Bedale Primary School. These sessions take place in a specially designed outdoor area, providing children with hands-on experiences in nature. For children in the younger cohort, we follow the exact same provision as our forest school lesson plans, located right here at our nursery.
Connection with Nature: Forest school sessions offer children the opportunity to connect with the natural world, fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for the environment.
Physical Development: Engaging in outdoor activities such as climbing, exploring, and building develops children’s gross motor skills and coordination.
Creativity and Imagination: The open-ended nature of forest school encourages children to use their imagination and creativity as they play and explore in natural settings.
Risk Management Through supervised outdoor play, children learn to assess risks and develop essential life skills such as problem-solving and decision-making
Emotional Wellbeing: Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels in children, promoting overall emotional wellbeing and resilience.
